Why people search for Oshiwara rather than a suburb

Oshiwara is not a suburb in its own right — it is the stretch where Goregaon West, Jogeshwari West and Andheri West meet along Link Road. People search for it because they want the connectivity of that junction: the bus depot, the Metro Line 2A stations at Lower Oshiwara and Oshiwara, and a straight road south to Andheri and north to Malad.

The practical effect on rent is that a bed a few minutes north, on the Goregaon West side, costs noticeably less than the same bed in Lokhandwala or Andheri West, while the commute barely changes.

Getting around from here

Times are typical off-peak. Link Road slows considerably between six and nine in the evening — factor that in if your office is south of Andheri.

What is around you

The Link Road strip covers most of daily life: chemists, groceries, gyms, tiffin and mess services, salons and a long run of restaurants. Infiniti Mall in Malad and the Lokhandwala market are both short rides. For work, the Andheri West offices, the Malad tech belt and the Filmcity studios are all reachable without touching a train.
